Designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW), the new station at Milano Sesto San Giovanni is steadily rising.
We’ve had the opportunity to be part of this remarkable project thanks to Cimolai, the construction company leading the works. Our focus has been on the glazed elements of the station, specifically -but not limited to- the following:
✅ The glazed main roof of the central core of the station: 110m long and 30m wide
✅ The glazed roof of the canopies surrounding the station’s main core
✅ The glazed parapets
✅ The glazed elevators
Using FEM model analysis, we have carefully assessed the geometries and thicknesses of the glazing systems to ensure their performance and safety. Additionally, we provided the final shop drawings for approval.
Moreover, we’ve also designed and structurally checked the aluminum panel cover for the lower portions of the glazed canopies.
With the construction site nearing completion, we are thrilled to see our work come to life in this outstanding project!
